artistic approach

The challenge for me is, with my creations, to establish a contact, a presence in the moment.

My creations must impose themselves in the eyes, give themselves in show.

Having thus imposed their presence, the bet is won when the public feels the humor, the love and / or the well-being that the characters expire and inspire.

I realize my sculptures by impulses. It is not the idea that guides the process, but the free play of forms and matter. I am an "instinctual". The human body inspires me, essentially, passionately. I like to translate his moods that I try to exteriorize by the expression of the face, the body and especially, by the movement. I like to capture a moment of movement, a body in action.

Example of one of my projects:

"Let us share the water" realized in 2017 Application for the competition "Contemporary Talents", Schneider foundation on the theme of the water.

I created and realized a scene with nine characters and other creatures which have a tremendous time with little of water there which they have. They plunge, they jump and they have fun. As all my characters, they have an overflowing and communicating joy of life.

To imitate the water …The realization of the water in my sculpture aims at returning her free, transparent, at giving him a fluid and cheerful movement. After trial months, and of experimentations, I opted for various solutions (resin, glue, silicone) to give of the volume and the fluidity. The electrical wire of this work is the beauty of the water and the transmission of a state of "feel-good.

Characteristics of techniques used since 2016:

I opted for the paper as the main material.

I make at first an iron armature, then a first tempered paper "dressing" in some cellulosic glue. It is at this stage(stadium) that I begin to look for the expression of the body. I let every character be born as I continue to put layers of paper. My way of working the paper allowed me to perfect the gesture(movement) until obtain the sought(wanted) effect. At any time when I work the papier-mâché, I can change the position of the body or remove / add some material.

The height of my characters vary of 30cm in 40cm.
